Notes & Combos
Arise, ye Tarnished...
Ashened is not a good deck. Dogmatika is barely playable. But together they're... still meh. However, they have some minor synergies and this also combines Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3 aesthetics, so for all the FromSoft fans out there, here's my pet deck. It requires a lot of knowledge of the meta, but I climbed from D5 to M3 with this with a lot of edits along the way.
WARNING: Lots of yapping ahead.
The main point of this deck is that Dogmatikamatrix and Awakening of Veidos are both basically custom cards, and Veidos can be used for Matrix's full effect by giving your opponent a body. Dogmatika also doesn't care about the Pyro lock, so we can fill our ED with super poly targets and stuff while also giving Ashened an actual win condition in extra deckout.
The Kashtira engine is really good for this deck as well. Unicorn speeds up our wincon tremendously, while the extra field spell provides a target for Veidos. Most importantly, they eat up handtraps. Ashened ironically struggles against Ash Blossom and such, so having Unicorn or Fenrir get targeted instead has saved a lot of games.
Matchups:
Branded: Unfavored going first, favored going second
Going first against Branded has been awful, since you can't just fire off Alba Zoa and they can easily just fuse it away with Albaz. Save your negate for it at all costs, Branded has no other way of dealing with Alba Zoa besides Mirrorjade's destruction effect, which you should also avoid triggering. Matrix send Sanctifire.
Tearlaments: Even to Unfavored
If you get rid of PEP, Tearlaments cannot deal with Alba Zoa without Sulliek or Snow. Matrix send PEP or Rukallos if you have a negate for Frission.
Tenpai: Favored
Very funny matchup. Just get rid of Trident Dragion, and watch them wonder if the game bugged when Alba Zoa doesn't die. Veidos is great to pop their field spell, so use Hero + Eternity to recycle it.
Voiceless Voice: Unfavored
Super Poly does nothing in this matchup, and their ED is full of junk. White Relic pulls its weight here, but mostly you're relying on Ashened to clear the field. Matrix send Dyna Mondo.
Yubel: Even to Favored
Alba Zoa and Super Poly obliterate this deck. Avoid the OTK by fusing off Alba Zoa with Cartesia. Matrix send Phantom.
Centurion: Even
Khaos Starscourge is here for this matchup, but it's also helped by the fact the Veidos is great for popping Stand Up. Matrix send Crimson Dragon.
