Notes & Combos
After Beatrice was banned -- and Primite released -- I thought Snake-Eyes wasn't as much of a guarneteed win and I wanted to find something else. Blue-Eyes was too expensive for me, so with a little tweaking and expirimenting, I finally found a list I liked enough to give a shot.
Welcome to Voiceless Voice, Metalmorph, Bystial, Fiendsmith!
Here's my philosophy: I want a 40-card deck so I have the highest chance of drawing Maxx "C" or an out to it. I want a deck good into Fuwaloss. I want a deck that has diverse interactions so that my opponent and I both feel like we're playing the game. I want a deck that rewards on-board decision making. If you're like me, then this deck might be for you.
I'm not 100% happy with this list, either. I think adding another bystial and replacing "Incoming Machine" with a second metalmorph trap is probably where I'll go next.
The rest is pretty okay. The gameplan going first is hand-dependent. High-roll hands can end on Skull Guardian, sauravis, Lo, and Desirae, with the continuous trap + metalmorph trap live. This is 2 omnis + a pop (sometimes a pop 2) + whichever metalmorph card you choose to go into -- you can use USED copies of fiendsmith or protector to go into a metalmorph version, and if you use Desirae you get to use its graveyard effect as well.
Why not ritual sauravis -- good question. I didn't have the UR dust. The other reason is that the Saffira ritual is a draw 2, which can be immensely helpful when you're trying to draw into extra engines (on your turn) or handtraps (on your opponent's). The handrip came up in a couple games too. She is also a dragon for metalmorph, meaning she isn't useless on board after drawing 2, in some gamestates.
I don't think this deck is perfect. I think one or two going second blowouts might help, though depending on the hand, sometimes you can push through with engine.
The metalmorph cards are weak going second, otherwise I'd have no complaints about them. To make them better going second, you have to play the red-eyes metal claws, but that can also just raise your chance of bricking.
Overall, though, I think this deck lets me play Yu-Gi-Oh the way I like to play it; this isn't the strongest deck in the room, but it might be the most interesting! Give it a go if you like the deck!
