Notes & Combos
FLOOWANDREEZE - the 1st competitive deck I've ever played IRL when I satrted playing slightly before INFO format, AKA when Fiendsmith released. the battles against meta were a struggle however I could make it from time to time. Over the 8+ months that have passed I've tried many decks however this one has stuck out to me becaue of it's beautiful strategy and control nature whilst being fair in nature as it dies to pretty much every handtrap. Now I decided it would be the best time to grind to M5 before a new deck i intend to build gets released and here's how the climb went and some notes and thoughts about the deck:
- the climb was surprisingly easy, altough I did fall from D2 back to D4 once, most of the losses were either bricks (who would've guessed) or drolls/HTs
- I wanna say around a 55/60% WR but I haven't counted so take it with a grain of salt
- what made me want to play this deck again in particular?
- Immunity to Maxx "C", Fuwalos and dominus impulse, cards prelevant all over ladder
- I adore the playstyle of he deck, often times feeling like a complex chess game past turn 1 as all of your information about interactions and cards in hand is public, as well as the fact that there is no better feeling in yugioh then putting a useless card on the top of your opponent's deck with raiza cutting off their resources and slowly but surely winning the grind.
- IT'S BEEN OVER 3 YEARS SINCE IT'S RELEASE, PEOPLE STILL DIDN'T READ EMPEN FFS
- streanghts and weaknesses of the deck overall?
- strengths: infinite grind, chainblocking, shutting off link based strategies, shifter
- weaknesses: incredibly hard to get your feet off the ground, or should I say, wings in the air, deck is overall bricky, impossible to run many HTs as a fat engine and consistency cards are required having you resort to boardbreakers for going 2nd.
- why chicken game? - Worse upstart, run upstart instead as it puts a card in the GY for stri, also i didn't know what to use as my 40th card and this was in my collection ¯\(ツ)/¯
