Notes & Combos
Climbed to D1 with a similar list but pre-support. D1 -> M5 with the new support.
Tested out Chimerea and she's win-more when you can set up the board uninterrupted, but makes things really tough because you can't go directly into your Lv. 12 Synchros because she can't level modulate. In the end she got cut for Gargoyle to return.
Bonds could be cut, but the inclusion makes some awkward hands playable, but also reduces the chance you see non-engine.
Speaking of non-engine: Centur-Ion wants to stop the opponent from playing because it's pretty difficult to even break through a half-board. One or two interrupts is enough to cook your plays. So I decided against Droll because it usually still lets people make half-boards. I tried Fuwa at 3 but I often bricked on it & drawing into Fuwa felt terrible. Same reason with 2 Ogre, better to have a variety as the engine naturally draws a lot with Atrii + Legatia. (Ash is necessary at 3 for Maxx C, and Veiler/Imperm are not OPTs. However, drawing into Imperm did not feel great after establishing a half-board.) 1 Nib to check Maxx C challenges.
Bystial count changed a little. Went down from 3x to 2x Lubellion for improved Bystial hand trap count. Cut Baldrake for Saronir as the game state simplifies quickly & often can't get the extra value with Baldrake especially with all these Fire decks still running around. Added a Druis for the same reason. Saronir is also a better discard and can help chain block.
Extra deck toolbox: Chaos Angel + Baronne are pretty mandatory as making Lv. 10s to send a Druis can be pretty impactful. Dis Pater would be nice as well (I don't have UR points). Chaos Archfiend is cuttable - could be replaced with a 2nd Primus as Primus not only is a good extender but can be an interrupt as her pop is not limited to monsters (unlike Legatia).
2nd Blazar over Quasar, but I'm just poor. Furthermore, if you're making double Blazars, you're in a position where you're winning and you probably don't need a 2nd Blazar anyway.
I was thinking of cutting Seals and ending on S:P when there were materials for a L2, but Seals can really help recover as you bring out a Bystial for either follow-up (Magna) or removal (Druis) especially if you have only 1 Centur-Ion card in backrow. With Chaos Angel, even Trudea can still trigger Stand-Up to synchro on your opponent's turn.
Overall, the worst part of this deck is when your engine requirements are glued to your hand. But not sure if there's any way around it.
