Notes & Combos

After reaching Master 1 the past two seasons with Ritual Beasts, I thought I’d try something new this time. But, as expected, I quickly found myself going back to Ritual Beasts again.

To keep things fresh and stay META-relevant, I looked into two main tech choices: Super Polymerization and Dominus Purge. I ended up going with Dominus Purge, and honestly, it was the better call in hindsight. Still, I’m planning to test the Super Poly version next season.

That said, Dominus Purge comes with some big downsides - it disables:

  • Nemeses Flag
  • Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
  • Archnemeses Protos
  • Infernal Flame Banshee
  • S:P Little Knight
  • Accesscode Talker

Note: You can still summon Archnemeses Protos or Thunder Dragon Colossus using Nemeses Corridor if they’re already in your hand, so they’re not entirely off the table.

Because of the restriction, you are locked out of Infernal Flame Banshee and Nemeses Flag. S:P Little Knight is still clutch for climbing into Ulti-Reirautari, so cutting her isn't feasible. Accesscode Talker, though, is easy to replace with a second Ulti-Reirautari. Just keep in mind that you'll lose the ability to destroy the opponent's True Light.

.To improve going-second power and flexibility, I added Book of Eclipse. It’s great for dodging Effect Veiler or Infinite Impermanence, and also helps to break boards. Worst case, it forces an Ash Blossom.

To make space for Dominus Purge and Book of Eclipse, I cut:

  • Droll & Lock Bird
  • SB Pettlephin
  • Nibiru, the Primal Being
  • 1x RB Inheritance
  • Crossout Designator

If the hand allows for it, I’ll perform the Nib Protected combo. But most of the time, I'm forced to ignore Nibiru and hope for the best. So far, I rarely got punished - and in some cases, Book of Eclipse flipped my monsters face-down and helped me outgrind my opponent. Another option is to summon Archnemeses Protos early and call LIGHT to dodge or force Nibiru early-ish.

I also gave Retaliating “C” a shot, but it didn’t perform well, so I cut it quickly. Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit might be a worthy addition, especially with how common True Light and Primite Lordly Lode is right now. Plus, you can access it with Emergency Teleport during the start of your opponent’s turn.

Hope this helps. Have fun!
