Notes & Combos
Master I with Millennium for a third month in a row. I decided to run a build with no super poly this time. With the 3 super polys out, fewer floodgates, and with just one Wedju Temple, I added Ash, Ghost Ogre, and two Bystials. They have a good potential to disrupt the Primite Blue-Eyes. I do not remember facing one deck for so many times in one season compared to this. Dominus cards also make it harder for us. Unlike previous seasons, now a coin loss pretty much guarantees you go second. In which case winning mostly the majority of your going first games will just not be sufficient - now we need to be much more concerned with going second scenarios. My super poly build before had a potentially stronger ending board (due to more floodgate and consistency) compared to this one, but a slightly worse going second play. The extra deck is useable - you can see replays (in-game code 113-968-622) with me summoning 2x Doomed Dragon, Sanaphond, and Punisher in different duels. Zeus is summonable after a Sanaphond attack, and Draco and Kyubi are there to provide some not-best-case ending board in case you cannnot summon the Unstoppable one, or for another round after that. This extra deck also allows for play in a case where you have a banished exodia piece. Still, this climb was a torture. With so many deranks, largely due to the deck of the day, I certainly miss having decks that prefer to go second, so they can let me go first. In hundreds of games, I probably met a Tenpai twice. Thankfully, what is clear and can be seen in replays is that this version of the deck has its merits. Despite the more difficult games this season, Millennium is still by far my most favourite deck to play. I sincerely hope that they keep adding support cards in the future.
